1 lb. ground chuck

1 cup cracker crumbs (dry bread crumbs serve OK also)

1 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon pepper

1 small onion, chopped

2 eggs

1/2 cup oatmeal

1 teaspoon chili powder

1 can mushroom soup


Mix all ingredients together except mushroom soup.

Shape into a loaf using a bread loaf size pan or other.

Make the loaf so that a slice would be as large as or smaller than the circumference of a teacup.

Cover and let set all night or 8 hours refrigerated.

Slice and fry until brown.

Put in a lightly sprayed greased baking dish or a 13x9x2-inch pan and pour the can of mushroom soup on top.

Cover and bake @ 350 degrees for 1 hour. It will make its own gravy.
